The Escape /September 27, 2013 by Lucas Winzenburg

Absolutely gorgeous. It worked, and now I desperately want to go mountain biking in British Columbia.

Spotted on Pedaling Nowhere.

Back from a great few days in Singapore, a fascinating and photogenic place with little gems around every corner, and one I'll definitely be coming back to, if only to visit @apartmentcoffee again (thanks for the tip, @kengpereira!).
Rainy season sunset on the south coast of Lombok, surely one of my favorite places I've ever spent time.
Rounding out my second year of escaping winter, I'm spending six weeks here in Indonesia, soaking up some sun, and thus far really enjoying being surrounded by warm Balinese people, like these two girls who were picking marigolds to be used in canang sari, daily flower offerings made by Balinese Hindus.
Out and about on the Curve GMX, a bike that beautifully pairs form and function. The Webb Bridge, not so much. As described in my favorite one-star review on Google (apparently I read bridge reviews now), "Much like the rest of Docklands, this bridge was clearly designed to make pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers hate each other." Pretty much sums it up! #racerideseek
The 2018 edition of Zug der Liebe (the train of love) brought together about 50,000 people for a slow-rolling party through the streets of Berlin as a reminder that in an age of populism and misguided politics, the city is still full of love. Music blasted from trucks and people danced as they walked along. I was on my way elsewhere when I crossed paths with it, just before sunset and in the middle of beautiful Frankfurter Tor. Someone came up to me, hugged me, and told me "Ich Liebe Dich" right as I was taking this photo. #zugderliebe
